Emergency orthodontic care

General soreness is not usually an emergency and often occurs when braces or aligners are first installed or worn. We recommend that you manage mild discomfort with over-the-counter pain relievers.

If soreness persists,contact us to ensure there isn’t a larger underlying issue.

A loose Orthodontic appliance is an emergency, as it can impede treatment progress and may cause discomfort or injury if not addressed quickly.

Our team will help provide a temporary solution over the phone and will get you into the practice as soon as possible.

Though not an emergency, loose brackets, if unchecked, can extend treatment time and complicate dental health.

Refrain from manipulating the bracket and schedule an appointment at our practice so that we can secure the bracket correctly.

Loose wires are more common but not generally an emergency. If not corrected, they can cause irritation and may affect tooth movement.

Temporarily reposition poking wires with the eraser end of a pencil and cover the end with orthodontic wax. A visit to our practice is required to properly secure the wire.

If a wire pokes into your cheek, tongue, or gum, apply orthodontic wax to buffer the area and provide relief.

This is a temporary measure. To prevent further discomfort or injury, you should visit our practice to have the wire adjusted or trimmed.
