The duration of treatment with metal braces varies depending on your specific needs and goals. On average, our patients wear metal braces for about 18 to 24 months, but some may need them for shorter or longer periods.

Metal braces typically need to be adjusted with arch wire changes every 7-8 weeks. This adjustment process helps gradually align the teeth into their correct positions.

A child or teen can begin full orthodontic treatment as soon as they have most of their permanent teeth, usually around the age of 10 to 14. Braces are also an option throughout adulthood.

There are also early treatment solutions suitable for younger children with specific dental issues which require a first phase of treatment.
