Clear braces
Clear braces blend the technology of metal braces with modern advancements to provide an aesthetically pleasing option popular with teens and adults. These treatments also cater to various issues, making it possible to achieve a beautiful smile with minimal visibility of your orthodontic treatment.
During your initial consultation, we will recommend the best treatment option based on your individual needs.
What are clear braces?
Clear braces use small, transparent, or tooth-coloured ceramic brackets (instead of metal ones), allowing us to match them to the natural appearance of your teeth. Similar to metal braces, clear braces use metal archwires to guide your teeth into place.
Because they are made of ceramic, clear braces can be more brittle than metal brackets, so we often suggest using them only on the top row of teeth where they are more visible.
The reliability of traditional braces, now more discreet than ever
How do they work?
Clear braces apply continuous, gentle pressure to the teeth through clear or ceramic brackets and archwires. These components work together to gradually guide the teeth into their optimal positions, with regular adjustments from your Orthodontist.
How we use them
Because they are made of ceramic, clear braces can be more brittle than metal brackets, so we only use them on the top row of teeth. If you need braces on both rows of teeth, we can affix metal brackets to the bottom row and the more discreet ceramic brackets where they are more visible.
Who are they for?
Ceramic braces are an excellent option for mild or medium dental issues in all ages of patients. Though very durable and perfectly fine for most patients, people who practice sports may need to take extra care with this solution.
